The School Day

When does my child need to be in School?

Morning registration is at 9am.  The gates open at 8.45am for children and parents to gain access to the playground.   The school day consists of two sessions - morning and afternoon. Registers are taken twice daily, once in the morning and again after lunch.

What happens if my child is late?

Once morning and afternoon registration has taken place and your child arrives late he/she will be marked as absent. Pupils who arrive after the gates are shut should report to the school office. Excessive unauthorised “lates” will be referred to the Education Welfare Officer (EWO).

Does the School need letters explaining a child’s absence or will a phone call do?

We would expect a parent to telephone the school on the first day of absence. If you do not phone us, we will contact you by mid-morning. This is because we believe it is our responsibility to ensure your child’s safety as well as their regular school attendance.

Does my child get a morning break?

Yes.  All children have a 15 minute break mid-morning.  They are allowed to bring in a healthy snack from home to eat at morning break?

When do they break for lunch?

All children get an hour for lunchtime.  There are staggered starts between 12.00pm to 1.00pm.  Early Years go first, followed by KS1 and then KS2.

What time do they finish school?

Children come out at 3.15pm.  The gates are opened for parents at 3.10pm to gain access to the playground.
