Parent Staff Association

Welcome to the Bishops Down PSA (registered charity no:  1044070)

Welcome to the Bishops Down PSA. The Bishops Down PSA is the main charity that supports the school. All parents, teachers and staff of Bishops Down Primary and Nursery school become members of the PSA when they join the school. This means that we have a fabulous community that is able to raise money for the school through events and fundraising.

With the appointment of new Co-Chairs (Kristy Adams and Lucy Howard), a Secretary (Clare Wetz) and a Vice Secretary/ Class Rep Coordinator (Liz Byrne) the Bishops Down PSA has been given a new lease of life. As a result, we all have a renewed passion and purpose for the PSA and are excited about raising vital funds for the school.

How can you help?

There are many ways that you can contribute to the success of the Bishops Down PSA. These include supporting our events, buying raffle tickets or following our social media pages. Additionally, if you are a business who would like to collaborate with us, perhaps by supplying a prize for our raffle, then please do contact us on - we would love to hear from you.

Over the next few months, we are planning to run many COVID-friendly and digital fundraising activities. These will hopefully mean that, once again, we can start to fundraise for the school. So please do keep an eye on this webpage, the PSA community Facebook page (, and the school and PSA newsletters for more information about future events and fundraising activities.

Future Events

Other events to look forward to:

Virtual Easter Fair - Come to our Virtual Easter Fair (being run on Facebook) and grab yourself some wonderful Easter goodies.

Virtual Easter Raffle - After the success of our Big Christmas Raffle, we will be holding another raffle online. You could win one of the fantastic donations supplied by some fabulous local businesses.

Personalised Easter Cards - Working with Arts Projects for School, you can purchase some wonderful Easter items designed by your child. Money from each item sold goes to Bishops Down PSA.

Children’s Sponsored Read - A brilliant way to encourage your child to read and to raise money for the school. We will produce sponsorship forms that will be sent home with the children. The children will then try to get sponsorship from family and friends - either being sponsored an amount per book they read or for the whole number of books that they plan on reading. Then over the Easter holidays, they will read as many books as they can.

Thank You

Thanks to your help, the money raised through the PSA has had a massive impact on the resources Bishops Down Primary and Nursery School is able to offer their students. And it has enriched the experiences and opportunities available to all pupils.

In the past two years, we have contributed £20,000 to the school. This money has been used, among other things, to buy 30 iPads and their accessories. These are used alongside the desktop computers in the ICT suite and have been a great addition to the children’s learning. This is an amazing achievement and should be celebrated. So thank you for everything that you have done to help the PSA have such an impact on Bishops Down Primary and Nursery School. We really couldn’t do this without you. "
