Safer Internet Day 2021 will be celebrated globally on Tuesday 9th February with the slogan: ‘Together for a better Internet’.

Globally, Safer Internet Day is celebrated in over a 140 countries, coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission, and national Safer Internet Centres across Europe.

In the UK, Safer Internet Day is coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre and the campaign sees hundreds of organisations get involved to help start a national conversation about safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

This year’s theme explores reliability in an online world.  More than ever we are using the Internet to connect with the world around us; keeping in touch with friends & family we cannot see and connecting with school and work in a new and screen-led way.  It seems more important than ever, to be aware of the pitfalls of the internet, from excessive screen time to fake news and email scams.

At Bishops Down we will be using this day to reaffirm our understanding of using the internet safely and respectfully.  We are also getting involved with supporting the UK Safer Internet Centre to beat the Guinness World Record ™ title for the most shares of an online pledge for an internet safety campaign in 24 hours.

Please help us achieve this by sharing from our Facebook and Twitter accounts
