The pupil premium is additional government funding for pupils who are eligible for free school meals (FSM) as of the January Census, or at any time in the previous six years, as well as Looked After Children (LAC), adopted children (Ad) and for service families.
Schools are offered the freedom to spend the Pupil Premium grant as we see fit, based on our current knowledge of the children’s needs. As a school we provide a provision which includes tailored interventions, targeted support with both teachers and teaching assistants. We also provide emotional and social support for those children in need as well as financial support for school trips, clubs, after school clubs and swimming.
Bishops Down’s aim is; to narrow the attainment gap between Pupil Premium children and Non- Pupil Premium children.
