Gilly Shankland

I taught at Bishops Down Primary School from 1996 to 2004 and was the Special Educational Needs Coordinator for that period. During that time I also took on the role of ICT Coordinator and was Acting Assistant Headteacher from 2002-2004.

In November 2004 I became a part-time member of Kent’s Specialist Teaching Service as Specialist Teacher for Physical Disability. My work enables me to continue to use the skills and experience I gained at Bishops Down to support children with physical disability in schools across Kent.

I became a community governor and “critical friend” in September 2004and I look forward to being a part of the continuing development of this excellent, inclusive and unique school.

I retain a personal interest in the school, as my granddaughter entered Reception in January 2006.
