Alison Ruff

My husband and I have lived in Tunbridge Wells, near the school, for 15 years.  I have been associated with the school for 11 years and joined the governing body as a parent governor in October 2009. My son, now at the Boy's Grammar, and my daughter in Y4 have both flourished at Bishops Down. I helped to establish the successful 'walking buses' ten years ago and continue to be involved in coordinating this scheme.

My experience as a professional town planner and work promoting green transport for KCC and Tower Hamlets has given me enthusiasm for mediation and finding solutions to a variety of challenges.

I want to become more familiar with the education system believing that a positive relationship between school and parents can contribute to the vibrant and creative community in which all our children can develop their full potential.

I am a keen walker demonstrating that I practice what I preach about walking buses.
