Curriculum

The Curriculum

Here at Bishops Down we have designed our curriculum to meet the needs of all our pupils and inspires them to be the best they can be. We have high aspirations for all pupils and through our creative curriculum we teach children the core values of the school; Achievement, Self-belief, Perseverance, Independence, Respect and Equality.

Our curriculum is designed to engage, excite and enable children to foster a love of learning for years to come. Our children are given many opportunities to learn life-long skills in class and in our extra-curricular activities. 

Our day begins calmly with a relaxed opening enabling children to enter quiet classrooms early if they wish to read, speak to adults or prepare for the day ahead. All classes have daily maths and English lessons and our creative curriculum encompasses; French, religious education, physical education, geography, history, design and technology, art, science, computing and music all linked to our current learning journey.
